When I got my score, the weight on my shoulders lifted instantly—and I owe a good part of that to DATBooster.
Salma, a successful DATBooster student who recently crushed the DAT, kindly agreed to share his journey with us. As our featured student this month, I asked her a few questions about how she prepared for the exam, what helped him most, and the advice she give to others just starting out.
How did you prepare for the DAT?
I started studying in January. The first month, I focused entirely on learning the material—about 6 hours a day—while also taking 17 credits. It was intense, but laying that foundation made everything else easier. After that, I switched to practice problems. Any question I got wrong, I’d review thoroughly—sometimes more times than I’d like to admit—until I understood exactly why I missed it and how not to make the same mistake again. I completed every single practice exam and went over each one in depth. Repetition and review were everything.
How did DATBooster help you the most?
DATBooster helped me immensely with the short explanation clips at the end of each practice question. They break down not just what the correct answer is, but why it’s correct, why the others aren’t, and little strategies to avoid careless errors. The reading section on Booster felt very close to the real exam, which helped a lot with confidence. As for PAT, I actually found Booster’s version to be harder than the real test—which, in hindsight, was a huge advantage. Going in, I felt overprepared, and that’s a good place to be.
How did DATBooster compare to other resources you tried (if any)?
I explored other study tools, but what made Booster stand out—beyond affordability—was the structure. The interface is clean, the tools are intuitive, and the learning games genuinely help reinforce key concepts. It’s designed in a way that works for all types of learners, whether you’re more visual, hands-on, or prefer drilling practice sets. It keeps you accountable without feeling overwhelming.
What’s one piece of advice you’d give to someone just starting their DAT prep?
The one piece of advice I give every pre-dental student: take breaks. If you’re having a day where even one more practice question feels like too much—step away. Don’t feel guilty for it. This is just one part of your journey. Give yourself some grace—you’ve already come this far and made the decision to tackle the exam. You’re going to crush it, and when you do, you’ll be ready for the next step, and we'll be rooting for you!!
