How does the MCAT Score Calculator work?

Enter the number of questions you answered correctly in each section (Chem/Phys, CARS, Bio/Biochem, Psych/Soc). The calculator converts your raw scores into scaled section scores (118-132) and a total score (472-528) based on AAMC scoring conversions.

The average MCAT score is around 502. Competitive scores for MD programs typically fall between 510-515, and top-tier schools often see matriculants scoring 518+. DO programs generally have an average matriculant score near 504.

Each of the four sections is scored on a scale of 118 to 132. The four section scores are added together for a total between 472 and 528. There's no penalty for wrong answers, so always guess.

Raw score is the number of questions you got right. Scaled score converts that raw number to the 118-132 range, accounting for test difficulty. The calculator handles this conversion for you.
