I found DATCrusher to be the most representative and comprehensive program to study for the Canadian DAT.
The DAT was a daunting challenge for me. I'm a mature applicant and it had been over 8 years since I had been in a science classroom. I had to relearn the basic science information from scratch. When I first signed in to the platform, I was greeted with a well organized, thoughtful layout of the different subjects tested on the DAT. After exploring the beautifully animated science content videos, the study plan guide, the question banks, and the full-length practice tests, it was obvious that considerable time and effort went into building up this resource. I felt reassured that I was in good hands.
I found the PAT section to be the most initially intimidating section, as I had never seen anything like it before. DATCrusher breaks down the different question types that may show up on test day and goes over strategies to employ when you encounter those questions. By practicing those strategies daily, I saw a slow but steady linear improvement in my practice scores leading up to my test date.
Since I was also working at the same time, I didn’t have many opportunities to sit down for long study sessions. I often turned to DATCrusher’s mobile app whenever I had a moment to myself — whether it be watching content videos while commuting to work, while running on a treadmill, or working through the Bio Bits practice problems while scarfing down my lunch. Even with such a scattered study schedule, DATCrusher’s excellent design and delivery of content material helped me to ultimately find success on the test. Test takers who are balancing other commitments can take advantage of all the different resources on DATCrusher to excel on the DAT!
