The day is almost here! After weeks of hard work, all your studying is finally about to pay off! You are about to take the official Canadian DAT tomorrow, and you want to know what you should do to prepare the day before the Canadian DAT. You are feeling confident after completing previous practice tests under timed conditions, so there is no need to feel stressed.

Below are a few recommendations for what you can do the day before your official test date.

I. Relax

There’s no point in trying to cram one more thing to learn. This is counterproductive and will do you more harm than good. Instead, relax and prepare yourself both physically and mentally for tomorrow. Consider booking a massage ahead of time to help you relax.  You can also hit the gym and workout to destress. Perhaps, even consider putting your mind in a state of deep relaxation through mindful meditation. Hit the sauna or go to the hot tub and perform deep breathing exercises. Do something that is in your comfort zone and not entirely new. However, do not get your first ever massage the day before your exam! For instance, you don’t want to feel sore on test day. No matter what you do, make sure you are doing something that you enjoy!

II. Be Healthy

Eat healthy both the day before and the day of your exam! Take some time to pack your snacks for tomorrow. Bring yourself a bottle of water and prepare your lunch ahead of time. Bring yourself something nutritious and high in protein, like a protein bar, and some cut-up fruits. This is a test of your mental strength and what you eat before test day will help you perform to your greatest potential.  That said, don’t eat anything new! Instead, pack something healthy that you are comfortable eating.

III. Enjoy Nature

Go on a walk alone or with family and friends. Fresh air and views of nature can help you clear your mind and make you feel at ease. Provide yourself with positive affirmations and remind yourself of what you want to achieve.  Above all, have some time to self-reflect. Remind yourself how far you have come and where you want to go next. Be grateful that you are given the chance to become a dentist.  When you show gratitude and give meaning to your actions, you will be able to better focus on the day of your exam.

IV. Sleep

Remember to sleep early and meditate. Making yourself some tea and listening to calm music can put you right to bed. Keep up with your nightly routine and get a good night’s sleep!

Hopefully this helps! You should now have some recommendations on what you should do before test day.  All your studying is finally about to pay off and you will be one step closer to becoming a dentist!
