There’s a lot of planning required, often over the span of several years, when applying to any of the 10 Canadian dental schools. Simplified below are their individual requirements for when it comes time to apply – all here in DATCrusher’s quick and easy-to-access guide!

Below, we will review various components of an application that may be considered by schools in order for an applicant to gain admission.

Academic Requirements

1️⃣ Prerequisites

Note: many schools require a minimum grade in all prerequisites to fulfil their requirements

0.5 = one half-year course
1.0 = two half-year courses or one full-year course 
* = Laboratory component required
¹ = Pass/Fail grades not accepted (COVID-19 related exceptions may apply)

2️⃣ Credit and Course load Requirements

* = 30 credits taken between September and April
** = Degree is required

3️⃣ GPA Requirements

NR = Not Reported
* = 4.5 scale used
** = Specific requirements must be met for lowest year to be dropped from GPA calculation (varies depending on school)

4️⃣ DAT Requirements

All schools below require the DAT, and all accept the Canadian DAT
