Interview Format

  • 30 minute open file one-on-one interview in which the applicant is evaluated based on communication skills, flexibility, leadership, team experience, intellectual ability, learning skills, and motivation and preparation for dentistry.

University Offerings

1. Academic Offerings 

  • Pre-Dental Opportunities
    • Touro Pre-dental Experience is a four-day program to introduce undergraduate students to dentistry 
  • Research
    • Students may take Summer Research Electives
    • Students are encouraged to present their research at various symposiums and conferences
    • Annual Research Day allows students to present their research

2. Clinical Experiences

  • D1-D2: Science and pre-dental coursework taught via lecture format. Students receive early exposure to pre-clinical work in the simulation laboratory and learn about practice management.
  • D3-D4: Students practice within Clinical Practice Units and are paired into Clinical Practice Teams, such that when a D4 graduates, their patients are passed onto the D3 student. 
    • Students are organized into six Clinical Practice Units, each of which is supervised by faculty and staffed with a dental assistant and patient care coordinator.
